Risk Manager

A financial services firm in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a Risk Manager to focus on operational resilience and third-party risk management, with responsibility for supporting resilience assessments, contingency planning, and risk reporting across critical business services.

About the Opportunity:

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: Standard business
Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days onsite)

Responsibilities:

Support the firm's operational resilience framework through oversight of critical third-party service providers and related risk activities
Conduct and support end-to-end third-party risk assessments across the vendor lifecycle, including planning, due diligence, contracting, monitoring, and termination
Develop and maintain contingency plans, exit strategies, risk acceptance inventories, and remediation tracking processes
Track critical vendor performance, identify material third-party risk events, and coordinate follow-up with key stakeholders
Prepare risk reporting, analysis, and remediation updates related to threats, vulnerabilities, resilience gaps, and control issues

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
Experience in operational resilience, business continuity, third-party risk management, or operational risk within banking or financial services
Hands-on experience supporting the operational resilience lifecycle, including assessments, governance, testing, and crisis management
Experience working with large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills

Desired Skills:

Exposure to enterprise risk management controls and best practices
Familiarity with payments, loans, trading, or settlement lifecycle processes
Experience developing executive-level dashboards, process flows, and governance materials
Knowledge of the four pillars of operational resilience, including business, technology, third-party, and cyber resilience
