Territory Manager - Soft Surface (Jacksonville, Florida, United States, 32202)

What We Need Mohawk is looking for a Territory Manager to serve as the principal selling agent for Mohawk Industries in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This entry‑level sales position requires creativity and latitude to achieve short and long‑term objectives as outlined in the company’s Business Plan. What You’ll Do Perform sales calls, traveling to customers and potential customer facilities to share information and support, give sales presentations, calculate and quote prices, take orders and close transactions. Provide customer service to resolve issues within marketing policies. Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as necessary. Monitor territory performance against objectives and guidelines, taking strategic action to improve performance. Provide product‑specific customer feedback to product line managers and other relevant personnel. Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory with the District Manager and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and practices. Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and special reporting to aid in business and product planning. Assist in developing a territory coverage plan, defining support type and frequency of customer contact to meet goals. Analyze regional opportunities and develop sales forecasts by customer and product, producing statistical reports as required. What You Have High school diploma required; college degree a plus. 1–3 years of progressively responsible work experience and any combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Ability to learn and maintain in‑depth knowledge of the company’s business and product lines. Knowledge of marketing and sales environment concepts, including basic accounting, product development, manufacturing procedures, distribution, and customer service. Proficiency with PC, e‑mail, and in‑house database systems. What You’re Good At Presenting and communicating orally, in writing, and interpersonally to interact and negotiate with internal and external customers. Reducing tension or conflict in antagonistic situations while maintaining professionalism. Ability to persuade, market, and sell new ideas. Gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing statistical and financial data to develop solutions. What Else? 75%–100% domestic travel via land and/or air. May be required to lift and move up to 100lbs without lifting aids. Vision requirements comparable to those needed to maintain a valid driver’s license. 100% body movement required to perform the job, such as standing, reaching, climbing, use of all major limbs.
