ABOUT THE ROLE

The Financial Control & Budget Analyst is responsible for providing financial oversight and analytical support across the lifecycle of utility-scale solar, storage, and renewable energy projects. This role serves as a key business partner to Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Development, and Finance teams by ensuring project costs are accurately tracked, forecasted, and managed against approved budgets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Monitor project expenditures, commitments, accruals, and forecasts against approved project budgets. Maintain project cost reports and provide regular visibility into budget performance throughout the project lifecycle. Partner with Project Managers and functional leaders to identify, analyze, and explain budget variances. Administer the project change order process from initiation through approval and implementation. Ensure project costs are accurately categorized and aligned with approved cost structures. Develop, maintain, and reconcile Budget at Completion (BAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Estimate at Completion (EAC), documenting assumptions and explaining changes from prior forecasts. Calculate, monitor and maintain a project dashboard for all KPIs associated with the construction phase of a project. Maintain financial reporting by Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), ensuring budgets, actual costs, commitments, accruals, forecasts, and approved changes are consistently mapped to the appropriate work packages. Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization to develop and maintain project construction forecast. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines. Skills/Attributes: Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, solve problems, and present findings in a clear and concise manner. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms is a plus. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is a plus. Experience with project management and construction systems such as Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is a plus.
