Responsibilities The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Ambulatory Care Advanced Certified provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant, or Physician. The LPN functions as part of the interdisciplinary health care team. The LPN, Advanced Certified serves as a resource for other team members and is active in the orientation of new staff. The LPN Advanced Certified functions at a leadership capacity as evidence by requirement as outlined in the Professional Nursing Pathway. The LPN Advanced Certified applies specific knowledge and competence in a specialized field and must remain credentialed to provide the best possible care to patients by maintaining a current National Certification. Provides direct and indirect nursing care individualized to the patient’s needs Advocates for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient’s autonomy, dignity and rights Works with the Nurse Supervisor and/or Manager to assure the appropriate application of the nursing process of specialty unit Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program, required Experience: 3 years LPN experience, required 2 years' experience within relevant practice area, required Previous leadership experience, preferred License/Certifications: Current NYS Licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN), required BLS certification, required Certified by a Nationally Recognized Organization or an Accredited Training Program ANCC, NAPNES, ETC., required In lieu of National Certification: 15 continuing education hours (CE’s) specific to your practice area per year This is in addition to required CE’s as outlined in Element5 45 CE’s for Maintenance Skills: Leadership Training Clinical Skills Motivation Team Building Career Development Communication Physical Requirements: Heavy work exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects Occasional balancing, climbing Frequent crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, visual acuity Constant standing, stooping, talking, walking, fit testing Hazards: Occasional mechanical, radiation/radiant energy Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure Working Conditions: Occasional extreme temperatures, noise, vibration Frequent odors Travel: Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. Pay Transparency Statement Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
