Entry Level Police Officer

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Department of Public Safety (Metro) – Los Angeles, CA Start a career in public safety—no prior law enforcement experience required. Metro is seeking Entry Level Police Officers to help protect passengers, employees, and property across one of the nation’s largest transit systems. This is a sworn, armed position focused on safety, service, and community engagement. What You’ll Earn Earn up to $130,499 per year What You’ll Do Patrol transit systems by vehicle, foot, or assigned post Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls Enforce laws and Metro policies Assist the public and help resolve conflicts Investigate incidents and prepare reports Work with other law enforcement agencies Testify in court when required What You’ll Need High school diploma or GED At least 21 years of age Ability to obtain P.O.S.T. certification Ability to pass background, medical, and psychological evaluations What Makes You a Good Fit Strong communication and people skills Good judgment and decision-making Ability to stay calm under pressure Willingness to learn and serve your community Outdoor and indoor work in a transit setting Varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays Active, hands-on role supporting public safety LA Metro offers a flexible benefits package designed to support you and your family.
