Apparel Supervisor I

Summary:The Apparel Supervisor Level I supervises and coordinates the activities of sewing machine operators assembling articles. This position carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures that daily production quotas are met.Ensures that quality products are produced.Completes documentation and reports as outlined in the quality assurance plan. This includes attendance, payroll, and production reports.Reports production and mechanical issues to the Supervisor.Attends training meetings as assigned.Meets the 3-hour per year requirement of training/staff development.Utilizes a teamwork approach for all projects.Supports ISO-9000 and Quality Management Systems requirements.Promote vision, value, culture, and commitment to excellent customer service to all customers and stakeholders.Maintains a safe and clean work environment.Assists with training people with or without disabilities as needed.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises workers/participants in the Apparel Department.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.Education and Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Six months of related experience and/or training.Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Problem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems promptly, develops alternative solutions, and uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.Communication and customer services - Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
