GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Electrician shall be responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installation and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
• Perform work from drawings, layouts, blueprints, or other specifications.
• Test electrical currents or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Must be proficient in bending and installing conduit.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
• Assist others as part of the maintenance team, as required.
• May be expected on occasion to respond to after-hour emergency calls.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Must maintain a Georgia Journeyman or higher license.
• Seven (7) years of related experience with facility electrical systems maintenance functions, environmental factors, and related procedures.
• Must have knowledge of standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Must have knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the electrical field.
• Must have a working knowledge of and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Must be a self-starter, team player, detail oriented, and possess strong organizational skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.

Physical stamina and strength in all its forms (endurance, temperature/climate, stress, etc.) is necessary.
