Hazard Communication Specialist

Title: Hazard Communication Specialist Location: Houston, TX. Additional locations include Charleston, TN Salary: $76,000.00 - $110,000.00. Schedule: Hybrid schedule available; 2 days remote per week. Relocation Available Focus: The Hazard Communication Specialist is responsible for summarizing relevant hazard information of products and for making interpretation of the information as it pertains to classification of hazardous substances according to various regulatory classification schemes globally. This position reports to the Hazard Communication Manager and will collaborate with business Product Stewards, Product Regulatory Expert, and the department's Toxicologist to facilitate the introduction of new products into markets and to maintain the Hazard Communication information up-to-date with new product information and requirements. Hazard Communication Specialist Essential Job Functions: Lead global projects to maintain compliance with global hazard communication regulations and related regulatory requirements. Collect, maintain and update compositional information into the SAP EH&S system. Coordinate input relevant for completion of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from various subject matter experts for a timely completion of the SDS. Develop and maintain project tracking tools (e.g., Excel dashboards, SharePoint trackers) to organize scope, assignments, and progress. Identify relevant hazard classification for existing products, intermediates and research samples using information on substances or products and classification rules to bridge remaining gaps. Hazard Communication Specialist Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree* in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or HSE related field. 2+ years of experience in SDS Authoring, Product Stewardship, and Regulatory Affairs or chemical regulatory fields; 5 years of experience preferred. Experience fostering clear and open communication within teams by encouraging participation and feedback to strengthen collaboration, solve day-to-day operational issues, and reach performance goals. Working knowledge of GHS preferred. Experience with REACH regulations and CLP classification preferred. Experience in SAP EHS environment preferred. *Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
