Solid Waste / Landfill Engineer (Associate to Senior Project Manager level) Location: Braintree, MA or Providence, RI preferred; Raynham, MA also considered. Hybrid. Our client is a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a dominant position in solid waste across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. They work across the full project lifecycle on MSW, CCR and industrial waste facilities throughout New England, and are opening a new Braintree office in late 2026 as part of continued growth. What you'll do You’ll lead design, permitting and construction phase services for solid waste facilities, including landfill liners, leachate and stormwater infrastructure, gas collection systems, site roadways and support structures. You’ll prepare permit applications, design reports, construction documents, specifications and cost estimates, and coordinate directly with regulatory agencies through the review process. You’ll also develop proposals, budgets and schedules, manage client and contractor relationships, and mentor junior engineers. What you’ll bring 5 to 15+ years of experience in solid waste or landfill engineering, spanning design, permitting, document preparation and construction quality assurance (CQA). A civil engineering background with proficiency in Civil 3D; candidates with a geotechnical background and waste experience are also encouraged to apply. A PE license is required, along with a B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering (M.S. preferred). This is a growth hire, not a backfill, with multiple openings planned through the rest of the year and a clear path from Associate Project Manager through Senior Project Manager level.
