Davis Staffing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Traffic Coordinator to support transportation, shipping, and receiving operations within a steel distribution environment. The Traffic Coordinator will work closely with warehouse personnel, sales teams, freight carriers, and vendors to ensure the efficient movement of materials and timely order fulfillment. This position requires strong communication skills, transportation knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Qualifications Include:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Minimum of 2 years of computer experience, including Microsoft Outlook.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets.

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving required.

• Steel industry experience required.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional communication skills when interacting with warehouse personnel, sales teams, customers, and vendors.

• Geographic knowledge of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and surrounding Midwest territories.

• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as business needs require.

• Must be available for 1st Shift training.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments.

• Communicate shipment status and delivery schedules with warehouse staff, sales teams, customers, and vendors.

• Prepare, maintain, and update shipping documentation and transportation records.

• Create and manage Excel spreadsheets used for shipment tracking, reporting, and logistics planning.

• Monitor carrier performance and assist with freight scheduling.

• Verify receiving and shipping paperwork for accuracy and completeness.

• Resolve transportation and delivery issues in a timely and professional manner.

• Maintain organized records and documentation related to shipping activities.

• Support inventory movement and warehouse logistics operations.

• Perform additional traffic and logistics duties as assigned.

Job Details Include:

• 2nd shift

• 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

• Overtime as needed
