A healthcare facility in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a locum Hematology/Oncology physician for ongoing coverage.

Compensation:

$570/hr

Position Details
Specialty: Hematology / Oncology
Practice Setting: Free-Standing Cancer Center
Start Date: July 1, 2026 preferred
Initial Assignment Length: 6 months
Ongoing coverage anticipated beyond December 2026
Clinic Hours: 8:30 AM 4:30 PM
Call Schedule
Weekend call rotation:
Friday 4:30 PM Monday 8:00 AM
Approximately every 5th or 6th weekend
Additional call coverage:
1 week of call every 6 8 weeks
Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient and inpatient Hematology/Oncology coverage
Participation in Tumor Board meetings
Management of Bone Marrow Transplants
Blood Bank management
Ordering tests and imaging studies
Prescribing medications and treatment plans
Patient Population
Adult patients
Geriatric patients
Practice Breakdown
65% benign hematology
35% malignant oncology
0% internal medicine
Patient Volume
Outpatient clinic: Approximately 25 patients per day
Inpatient call/rounding: Approximately 20 patients per day
Practice Environment
Collaborative practice with:
7 physicians
6 APPs
Chemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staff
EMR: Epic
Additional Coverage Information
Inpatient coverage is required
Candidates unwilling to participate in inpatient coverage will not be considered
Providers are expected to treat more than 12 patients per day
Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
Active South Carolina license required
BLS certification required
DEA required
Clean background required for emergency temporary privileges
NPDB Self-Query report required within 30 days of presentation
Candidates must disclose if they can provide at least 2 weeks of coverage per month

Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60 days
