Physician Assistant (Primary Care)

Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care to veterans across age groups, integrating knowledge of age‑related changes in physical, psycho/social, cultural, and safety factors. Conduct history and physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. Deliver preventive medicine services, manage chronic diseases, and coordinate care with specialists and outpatient services. Maintain and update patient panels and records, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with the healthcare team. Adapt to changing service line needs, including flexibility in work assignments and potential travel to other clinics. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program (ARC‑PA or predecessor). For foreign graduates: verify foreign equivalency. Minimum of 2 years of clinical PA experience (within VA or similar setting) and willing to work weekends, irregular hours, and extended hours. Proficient in written and spoken English and subject to background/security investigation. Must pass a pre‑employment physical examination, urinalysis (if applicable), and seasonal influenza vaccination or exemption. Physical capability to lift and carry 45 lbs and perform other physical tasks as described in the job requirements. At least 55% time with patient care, with commitment to VA core values.
