Subcontracts Manager

General Overview Moog is a premier motion and flow control solutions provider that supports the Space and Defense Group. We are seeking a Subcontracts Manager to oversee procurement and management of major subcontracts for complex mission‑critical hardware and services. The role is based in Arvada, CO, and is performed in a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities Be responsible for major subcontract procurement of complex mission‑critical hardware and/or services necessary to support assigned program(s) and related program proposal activities. Review Statements of Work (SOWs), prepare RFP/RFQ’s, conduct source‑selection determinations (including non‑competitive justifications), and ensure compliance with applicable purchasing system considerations. Review and analyze supplier bids/proposals and perform cost and/or price analysis. Lead cost and pricing reviews with program management and customers. Conduct subcontracts negotiations with suppliers. Review, interpret, and provide recommendations regarding terms and conditions, and participate and/or lead negotiations for modifications to standard/non‑standard subcontract provisions. Advise management of contractual rights and obligations. Develop strong working relationships and consistent communication channels with suppliers. Collaborate with geographically dispersed cross‑functional internal stakeholders to understand Moog program requirements. Identify subcontract risks/issues and provide leadership in developing innovative solutions to complex subcontracting requirements. Represent the organization as the primary subcontract business point of contact on assigned subcontracts to internal and external customers, and make presentations as required. Ensure compliance with company policy/procedures and government regulations throughout the procurement lifecycle. Maintain an awareness of regulatory changes and their impacts on subcontracts. Observe all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and five years of progressive professional experience emphasizing supply chain management, operations, engineering, contract administration, or a related discipline. Well versed in Government Contracting (FAR, DFARS, ITAR) with a comprehensive understanding of acquisition principles and regulations for major agencies such as DoD and NASA. Experience and familiarity with Statements of Work and SDRL management. Experience with various contract types (e.g., FFP, CR, CPFF, T&M). Ability to provide leadership in developing and communicating new concepts for unique requirements. The ability to understand complex requirements and develop innovative solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make presentations to a variety of audiences. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers, and other external parties. The ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate subcontract activities during multiple work phases. Excellent computer skills and familiarity with standard office tools (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat). Ability to work independently and as part of a team; capable of representing the organization as the primary contact on subcontract matters and providing leadership to less experienced employees on projects. Ability to work extended hours and travel as required. Ability to access U.S. export‑controlled information. Salary Range Arvada, CO: $100,000.00–$135,000.00 annually (base salary). Total compensation may include bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, and additional regional benefits.
