We are committed to creating a high-performance work environment with continuous professional growth in support of growth in all domains for all students.Qualifications:Licensed by the MN Department of Health as an Occupational TherapistMaster's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institutionNational Board Occupational Therapy CertifiedPediatric experience required - school experience preferredExcellent skills in communication and collaboration (families and staff)Team oriented - working with other providers, teachers and familiesProgram Description:The occupational therapist will provide direct and indirect services to students in Pre-K/Kindergarten through 8th grade. The students needing occupational therapy range from mild needs to those who demonstrate more significant needs due to autism, cognitive delays and other neurological/developmental needs.Key Responsibilities:Provide developmentally appropriate service based on individual needs.Develop and implement IEPs that address each child's unique needs.Use evidence-based practices and assessments to monitor progress and adjust services as needed.Work collaboratively with teams of service providers (e.g., speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, 1-1 paraprofessionals and speech education teachers).Member of a team that provides integrated services in a multi-disciplinary manner to promote greater generalizability of skills.Serve as a resource for general education staff to ensure that needs are accommodated in the general education setting (including adaptive seating, sensory and other equipment needs).Indirect services in the general education setting focused on working with teacher to generalize student skills.Participate in planning and conducting multidisciplinary evaluations to determine needs for related services.Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and other required documentation for compliance purposes.Complete service logs on a timely basis for Medical Assistance billing submissions.Train and support paraprofessionals assigned to children on the ECSE teacher's caseload.Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CIP, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings consistent with district and program priorities.
