The role operates within Adult, Clinic, Hospital, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatrics work settings and requires a minimum of five years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform procedures including Gastric Emptying, HIDA Scan, and Muga ScanConduct Bone Scans: 3 Phase, Limited, and Whole BodyPerform Brain Scans including Cerebral Blood Flow studiesConduct Liver/Spleen Scans: Liver Imaging and Liver Scan-HemangiomaPerform Lung Scans: DTPA Aerosol, Perfusion, and Ventilation/PerfusionPerform Renal Flow studies: Flow/Function, Renal/Perfusion, Three Phase, and With LasixConduct Shunt studies: Abdominal and VentricularPerform Thyroid Studies: Cancer Survey, I-123 Uptake Scan, and Uptake ScanPerform Tumor Localization studies: Limited and Whole BodyConduct SPECT (Single-Photon Emission CT): Bone, Brain, Liver, Renal, and Sestamibi parathyroid scanPerform Myocardial studies: Adenosine Infusion, Exercise/Rest-Multiple, and Pharmacological StressDraw venous blood and start/maintain IVs as requiredFollow Isolation Precautions/PPE protocolsHandle storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materialsOperate Siemens equipmentDocument using EPIC and manage medications/supplies through PyxisMaintain patient ratios of 1:4Participate in rotating nights on-call and every 3rd weekend requirementRequired SkillsMinimum 5 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine TechnologyPrior traveler experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)Proficiency with Siemens equipmentExperience across Adult, Clinic, Hospital, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatrics work settingsProficiency in drawing venous bloodKnowledge and application of Isolation Precautions/PPEAbility to start and maintain IVsKnowledge of storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materialsProficiency with EPIC (documentation) and Pyxis (medication management)Preferred SkillsPrevious Charge ExperienceTrauma Level I ExperienceTrauma Level II ExperienceEducation RequirementsARRT (N) — Nuclear Medicine Radiology certification requiredCNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification requiredFlu vaccination required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)Work Environment / Physical RequirementsWork settings include Adult, Clinic, Hospital, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatrics environmentsRotating nights on-call requiredEvery 3rd weekend requiredFloat requirement: NoneScrubs: Royal BlueUnit orientation: 40 hoursScheduling type: BlockedPatient ratio: 1:4Manager interview required before offer; candidates must provide interview availability within 72 hours of submissionImportant NotesUnit does not accept first-time travelersLocal candidates acceptedManager will not extend an offer without speaking to the candidate first; please provide interview availability for the next 72 hours at time of submissionUnit orientation is 40 hoursAbout the ClientThis client is a regional healthcare system operating acute care and specialty hospital facilities across the Southeastern United States, including facilities serving both adult and pediatric populations in North Carolina.
