What You'll Do: UTEX Industries is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support quality testing and material inspections at our Weimar facility. This hands-on role ensures our sealing, packing, and molded products meet internal standards and customer specifications. You'll work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your responsibilities will include: Operate lab and rubber processing equipment (mills, presses, tensometer, rheometer, etc.) Prepare test samples for evaluation and approval processes Perform daily quality control testing and inspections Verify materials meet required specifications Record accurate test results in quality databases and logs Generate certificates of analysis (COAs) and test reports Assist with first-article inspections (FAIs) Participate in root cause investigations and process improvements Communicate results to engineering and production teams Follow all safety, PPE, and lab handling procedures What We're Looking For: Required: High school diploma or GED Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs Frequent use of hands for sampling, cutting, and measuring Comfortable working around lab chemicals, heat, and machinery Preferred: Associate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Industrial Technology, or related field Prior lab or quality testing experience in manufacturing Experience with rubber, elastomers, plastics, or machining environments Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, durometers, tensile testers) You'll work in both manufacturing and office environments, using tools and equipment daily. PPE and steel-toed footwear are required. Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.
