Make an impact this school year as a dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting high school students in a functional curriculum, self-contained classroom. This full-time contract position runs from August 4, 2026, through May 26, 2027, and offers the rewarding experience of working in a collaborative environment with two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician. This role is located in a supportive school community near LaFayette, GA, and presents a strong possibility for contract renewal based on successful performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active SPED GaPSC certification with Special Education content through 8th grade required.
• Adapted Curriculum Endorsement necessary (pending credentials will be considered).
• Experience or strong interest in working with lower functioning high school students in a self-contained setting.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver functional academic instruction and life skills to students with diverse learning needs.
• Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), measuring student progress.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, support staff, and families to ensure students’ educational and behavioral goals are met.
• Create a positive and structured classroom environment that fosters growth and independence.
• Participate in professional development, IEP meetings, and collaborate on pre/post planning days as needed.
