Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years inpatient acute RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, care plan implementation, care plan evaluation Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring and precepting staff. Key responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, reviewing and revising it as indicated. Collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary services is essential. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions is part of the evaluation process. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Leadership responsibilities include delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor and preceptor, promoting teamwork and communicating opportunities for improvement. Participation in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts is crucial. The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in practice governance models.
