Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Greenwich, Connecticut, in a hybrid work arrangement with four days in the office and one day remote. This Long-term Contract opportunity will support core accounting operations, entity-level financial reporting, and analysis for a dynamic business environment. The role works closely with accounting leadership and offers the chance to strengthen controls, support new accounting matters, and help improve financial processes through effective collaboration.Responsibilities:• Oversee daily accounting activity and review profit and loss performance for assigned legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.• Manage month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and performing detailed variance analysis.• Produce monthly financial reports and present meaningful insights to senior leadership on operating results and trends.• Prepare annual audited financial statements and serve as a key contact for external auditors during the audit process.• Assess the accounting impact of new standards, transactions, and business initiatives, and support their implementation.• Partner with technology and cross-functional teams to enhance accounting workflows, strengthen controls, and increase automation.• Maintain the general ledger for assigned entities and ensure supporting documentation is complete and well organized.• Monitor account activity, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations, to resolve discrepancies and uphold financial accuracy.
