Principal Operations Research Analyst

This onsite role in Arlington, VA for a Principal Operations Research Analyst/Systems Engineer requires active U.S. citizenship and a current Secret DoD clearance. What You Will Do Develop, analyze, and assess system operations and results specific to both internal RTX and external customers in the operational domains of maritime, land, air, space, and C2. Use Raytheon proprietary software, analytical tools and methods, campaign analysis, and systems-level visualization to describe results and recommendations to the customer. Develop and visualize solutions to worldwide challenges that favor our warfighters. Develop and integrate computer models and simulations that capture systems-of-systems effects in varied and complex threat environments to generate virtual or analytical solutions, identify technology gaps, and demonstrate operational benefits of new concepts. Provide wargame analysis, including onsite decision adjudication and analysis. After initial experience, augment and support: Wargaming efforts to train military operators and senior decision makers for U.S. and allied forces. Evaluation of end-to-end military systems to determine interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill chain for internal Raytheon, RTX, or external customers. Model system and mission kill chains using U.S. Government, commercial, and Raytheon M&S tools. Develop metrics to communicate the chain of events that led to an action. Create, refine, and implement algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the entire system of systems. Qualifications You Must Have Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Experience with scripting languages Python, Shell, and/or Perl. Military operations analysis, operations research, wargaming, and/or modeling & simulation experience in the defense industry and/or military, and/or data analysis & visualization. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance on the start date. Qualifications We Prefer Advanced degree in STEM and/or specialized degree (Operations Research, Military Science, Intelligence Studies). Experience with Raytheon-owned modeling and simulation tools (OpsTool or RCADE), Raytheon visualization tool (VIS), or government/industry tools (AFSIM, OneSAF, Brawler, STK). Experience with software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in Unix or Linux environments. Knowledge of DoD and/or IC mission areas, systems, and military tactics with the ability to represent such employment. Experience with advanced analytical metrics and methods, especially handling large data volumes from competitive sports applicable to wargaming, campaign analysis, SABRmetrics, Moneyball, and golf ShotLink.
