We take pride in the quality of our work! Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Litigation Associate (Employment) role based in Torrance, CA. The Litigation Associate will handle a range of employment law matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting complaints, propounding and responding to discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting mediation briefs, managing and advancing the cases along, participating in mediations, and appearing in state and federal courts for hearings, conferences, and trials. The role involves collaborating with senior attorneys on case strategy, evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met. Qualifications Familiarity with relevant California and federal statutes and regulations. Ability to analyze personnel files, wage statements, and time records to determine violations. Experience drafting motions, mediation briefs, settlement agreements, including motions to compel discovery responses, demurrers, and motions to compel arbitrations. Proficient in legal research, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and writing legal memoranda. Skills in preparing for and conducting depositions, including witness examination and deposition strategy. Attend court hearings, mediations, and argue motions. 1-4 years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and organization. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, work collaboratively, and exercise sound judgment. Taking initiative on moving the cases along, reviewing cases with paralegals and senior attorneys. Flexibility and openness to learning and adapting to the firm's practices and policies.
