Underwriter

Main Responsibilities Underwrite and assist in the placement of commercial real estate debt transactions Evaluate loan requests across the capital structure, including senior debt, mezzanine financing, bridge financing, and preferred equity opportunities Analyze property cash flows, debt service coverage, leverage metrics, and loan sizing across multiple financing scenarios Build and maintain financial models in Excel Prepare comprehensive loan submissions, including clear, accurate, and professionally written deal packages for lenders Coordinate active transactions by managing due diligence items, lender feedback, deadlines, and closing deliverables Review and analyze legal documents, third-party reports, rent rolls, operating statements, and borrower financial information Prepare market analysis reports, including vacancy, absorption, and comparable rents and sales Work closely and confidentially with lenders and borrowers regarding loan structures, financing options, and qualification requirements Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients and lenders Participate in networking through professional, business and community organizations and activities Requirements and Qualifications 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, underwriting or a related financial analysis role Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired Well organized, with strong time management skills Written communication skills required, including the ability to prepare polished loan submissions, investment memos, and client-facing materials Advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Self-motivated and team-oriented Meridian provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus and benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000-$150,000 depending on the individual's experience level, skills and qualifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
