Treatment Court Compliance SpecialistKitsap County is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Treatment Court Compliance Specialist to play a vital role in supporting individuals on their path toward long-term recovery, accountability, and successful reintegration into the community. You'll build strong partnerships with courts, treatment providers, and community organizations while directly contributing to public safety, reducing recidivism, and strengthening the health and well-being of Kitsap County residents. This role offers outstanding opportunities to expand your expertise in treatment courts, motivational interviewing, case management, and cross-system collaboration while making a lasting impact on the community.As the Treatment Court Compliance Specialist, you will:Monitor participant compliance with treatment court requirements, diversion agreements, court orders, and individualized case plans while promoting accountability and positive behavior change through motivational interviewing techniques.Conduct regular participant interviews, assessments, case reviews, and progress meetings to evaluate compliance, identify barriers, and update individualized case plans throughout program participation.Facilitate participant groups and provide ongoing guidance to ensure individuals understand program expectations, legal obligations, and available community resources.Perform field contacts by visiting participants at their homes or places of employment, when appropriate, to verify compliance and support successful program engagement.Maintain accurate, timely, and legally defensible case records by documenting participant contacts, progress, assessments, and compliance activities within multiple case management systems.Prepare and present comprehensive written reports, oral presentations, and compliance updates to the multidisciplinary treatment court team, including leading weekly staffing meetings and providing courtroom testimony when necessary.Recommend appropriate incentives, sanctions, alternative interventions, or program termination based on participant progress, compliance, and established court protocols.Collaborate with judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, probation officers, treatment providers, housing agencies, and other community partners to coordinate participant services and monitor treatment compliance.Assist participants in resolving barriers involving multiple court jurisdictions, probation requirements, legal financial obligations, bench warrants, driver's license issues, and related legal matters that may affect program success.Collect, analyze, and report program performance data to support grant reporting, program evaluation, continuous improvement efforts, and future funding opportunities under the direction of the Treatment Court Program Manager.Ensure compliance with established court procedures, confidentiality requirements, industry best practices, and all applicable County, State, and Federal policies governing treatment court operations.What You BringProfessional Credentials/ExperienceAssociate's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (required).Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field (preferred).Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing support services closely related to treatment courts, case management, social services, behavioral health, criminal justice, or a comparable human services program.Relevant work experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for educational requirements. Work experience is essential and cannot be replaced by additional education.Specialized ExpertiseExperience monitoring participant compliance with court orders, treatment plans, and program requirements.Knowledge of community resources supporting individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, trauma, housing instability, and related barriers.Familiarity with County, State, and Federal laws and regulations governing treatment court programs.Experience or training in Motivational Interviewing or similar evidence-based behavioral change techniques is highly desirable.Ability to analyze participant progress and provide informed recommendations regarding incentives, sanctions, and program outcomes.Communication/Interpersonal SkillsExceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare concise reports and present findings effectively to judges, attorneys, treatment providers, and multidisciplinary teams.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build respectful, professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries with participants from diverse backgrounds.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.This position is funded through state appropriated funds through June 30, 2027, with additional funding requests submitted annually.Kitsap County is an equal opportunity employer.
