About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in medical-surgical and inpatient hematology oncology. License: Must hold a valid nursing license. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification Must-Have: Experience with leukemia, blood dyscrasias, and lymphoma. Current specialty experience in the last 3 years. Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Bone Marrow Transplant unit with a focus on oncology and mixed acuity. Shifts will be 12 hours during the night. Experience in medical-surgical and hematology oncology is required for this role. Patients will present with diagnoses including Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and Multiple Myeloma, among others. The role includes providing care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants. Candidates must possess skills in telemetry monitoring, administration of chemotherapy, and central line care. Candidates should also be proficient in interpreting dysrhythmias and handling blood products. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety is essential for this role. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy and social services. Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient care are vital for success in this position.
