Senior UI/UX Developer Architect

Job Summary:

The Sr. UI/UX Developer/Architect is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-level design systems with a strong focus on accessibility and scalability. This role involves building reusable UI components, ensuring compliance with federal accessibility standards, and collaborating across teams to maintain high-quality user experiences in enterprise applications. Responsibilities:

Build, document, and maintain scalable design systems and reusable component libraries using USWDS or similar frameworks.
Develop accessible, high-level wrapper components with HTML, SASS, and Angular.
Ensure all UI patterns and components comply with WCAG 2.1 / AAA and Section 508 accessibility standards.
Use Storybook for component development, documentation, and team collaboration.
Conduct accessibility reviews, code reviews, and front-end quality assessments.
Partner with cross-functional teams to implement consistent accessibility and UX standards.
Support high-visibility enterprise applications with an accessibility-first architecture and delivery approach.

Required Skills & Certifications:

5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
Hands-on experience setting up and implementing enterprise design systems from scratch.
Strong expertise in WCAG 2.1, Section 508, ARIA roles, and semantic HTML.
Proficiency in HTML, SASS, Angular, and Storybook.
Excellent technical communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Strong understanding of accessible UX/UI design principles.
Experience with USWDS or comparable enterprise design systems.
Accessibility-focused certifications are highly valued.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Familiarity with .NET, MVC, and SQL.
Understanding of front-end and back-end integration considerations.

Special Considerations:

Strict adherence to federal accessibility compliance and standards.
Work involves high-visibility, enterprise-level projects requiring precision and collaboration.

Scheduling:

9-month contract.
40 hours per week.
Onsite work required.
