Processing SpecialistThe Processing Specialist serves as the welcoming face of our Managing General Agency, delivering superior customer service experience to our retail agent partners and clients. This role is responsible for routine to moderately complex clerical, administrative, and operational support functions, with a strong focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and teamwork.What You'll DoServe as a point of contact for retail agent partners and clients, providing fast, friendly, and accurate service via phone and digital communicationReview and process applications with accuracyUse management system(s) to record information as well as communicate with clientsProcess endorsements (policy changes) and cancellations in accordance with training and company guidelinesSupport operational functions including reports, inspections, policy audits, and surplus lines documentationAssist with surplus lines tax filings and compliance and coordinate with applicable state insurance boards, as neededMaintain organized, detailed records to ensure compliance, efficiency, and excellent serviceJump in to support the team with additional tasks as needed — because teamwork makes everything run smootherRequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree preferred)One to two years of customer service experience; insurance experience preferredWorking knowledge of Windows PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in fast-paced or stressful situationsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and conciselyStrong attention to detail, organization, and follow-throughAbility to respond to inquiries in a timely and professional mannerAbility to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities effectivelyWillingness and ability to learn insurance processes, surplus lines requirements, and regulatory guidelinesCollaborative mindset with a proactive, team-oriented approachAbility to identify issues within scope and propose alternative solutions when appropriateAt SSIU, we believe taking care of our people comes first — which is why we offer 100% employer-paid health and dental benefits, generous paid time off, 12 paid holidays each year, flexible work arrangements, and a 401(k) with a 4% company safe harbor match.
