Inventory Lead

Oversee Shipping Operations: Manage the entire shipping process, including coordinating with carriers and ensuring timely dispatch of goods. Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, including those for hazardous materials and international shipments. Inventory Management: Conduct cycle counts and maintain warehouse inventory levels. Supervision: Supervise material handlers and other shipping staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies. ERP Management: Manage ERP databases to track shipments and inventory. Quality Control: Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure product integrity. Inventory Tracking: Track and verify all inbound and outbound shipments. Stock Replenishment: Ensure that stock levels are maintained and replenished as needed. Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues related to inventory discrepancies or shipment delays. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation for management. Safety Compliance: Ensure all inventory practices comply with safety regulations and company policies. Coordination: Work with other departments, such as sales and procurement, to ensure inventory needs are met. Additional Responsibilities These roles require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are also crucial to ensure efficient operations. Develops and installs clerical and office procedures and practices and studies workflow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine the expediency of installing new or improved office machines. Keeps shortlist file in established sequence and releases short items for issue or shipment as stock becomes available. Receives, stocks, and/or distributes incoming parts and materials. Prepare for and assist with monthly and annual inventories. Transfers parts or materials (via computer) from stock-to-job, job-to-job, and job-to-stock. Initiates computer reports reflecting inventory transactions. Works directly with Purchasing, Engineering and Production in obtaining necessary parts and materials for job completion. Prepares and files documentation for the shipment of panels and return shipments of vendor products. Prepares and attaches accurate container identification labels for shipment. Supports the Inventory Clerk with coordinating the shipment of panels with carriers. Ensures the quality of goods and services to both internal and external customers. Performs duties of Inventory Clerk when necessary. Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Directs Inventory and Expediting personnel at Kasa in coordination with Production Manager Carries out supervisory responsibilities per Production Manager instructions in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems with the direction of the Production Manager. Leads, develops and grows direct reports. Maintains key business metrics and reports out monthly. Training Required Participates in Kasa Leadership Program. Completes ERP Training. Completes company LEAN training and participates in Kaizen events as needed. Understands Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements and how it applies to this position as determined by ISO 9001 and to facilitate continuous improvement. Completes Forklift Training Completes Crane Training Education & Experience High School diploma/GED required. Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook required. Additional Qualifications Ability to interpret a variety of instruction, either written or verbal, diagram or schedule. Maintains an acceptable driving record. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and subordinates in a one-on-one and/or group setting. Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and dimensions. Ability to work with fractions and decimals, converting them back and forth. Ability to work independently as well as within a team. Ability to multi-task in a high pace environment. Organizational skills and attention to detail a must. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize time and various projects. Ability to work with confidential data. Work Environment This position operates in a clerical setting. It routinely requires using standard office equipment, such as computer, phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Our standard office hours are from 7:30AM to 4:30PM Monday -Friday with staggered hours that may be implemented to ensure continuous coverage for shipping operations Occasional evenings and weekends work may be required as job duties demand. Minimal travel may be required. Physical Demands The position will require frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing and lifting or moving up to 40 lbs. Occasionally, it may require sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and/or lifting or moving up to 80 lbs.
