Senior Systems Development Engineer, Edge Infrastructure Operations

Support Linux machines across the globe to ensure the reliability of Google’s content delivery and compute infrastructure.Collaborate regularly with infrastructure partners to provide remote troubleshooting.Perform as part of a follow-the-sun operations team via a roster during Thornton's core hours.Identify and implement projects to automate and improve support, and onboard new hardware and services.Utilize agentic AI to automate complex support actions.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience with systems automation, and with systems design and implementation.5 years of experience with technical infrastructure (e.g., deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting), and with reliability of technical infrastructure.Preferred qualifications:5 years of experience working with vendors or customers.Experience with coding projects with common programming/scripting languages such as Java, C, C++, Python, Shell scripting, and JavaScript.Experience with root-causing problems in networking, storage, operating systems, and similar.Knowledge of cloud technologies and enterprise compute environments.Knowledge of internet peering/routing topologies.Systems Development Engineering (SDE) at Google is a role where you manage services and systems at scale.
