Opening: Licensed Insurance Agent
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $60,000-$70,000 base + commission/bonuses LICENSED INSURANCE AGENT
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced, licensed insurance agent to join a growing independent agency team in Anchorage. This role is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships while quoting, binding, and servicing personal and commercial lines policies. This is a remote/hybrid position, offering flexibility while working with a collaborative Anchorage-based team. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced customer contact environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Quote and bind personal lines policies across multiple carriers
• Handle endorsements, rewrites, remarketing, and policy renewals
• Manage high-volume inbound and outbound client calls with a friendly, professional approach
• Cross-sell home, auto, umbrella, and recreational insurance products
• Process policy changes and explain coverage differences clearly to clients
• Read and interpret declarations pages and underwriting requirements
• Sell and service life, vehicle, and property/business insurance to individual and commercial clients
• Maintain accurate client records in the agency management system
• Build and grow a book of business through referrals, cross-selling, and strong retention practices
• Stay current on carrier guidelines, products, and state regulations

Qualifications

• Active Alaska Property & Casualty License, with no current licensing issues
• 3-5 years of personal lines insurance experience required; independent agency experience preferred
• Recent experience with Liberty Mutual (formerly Safeco), Progressive, Umialik, Foremost, and/or other Alaska carriers (Aegis, DB, American Modern)
• Experience with at least one agency management system: Applied Epic, TAM, HawkSoft, AMS360, EZLynx, or Agency Zoom
• Proven ability to quote across multiple carriers and cross-sell effectively
• Comfortable adopting and working with new technology
• Strong phone and verbal communication skills; naturally friendly with clients
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and dependable

• Policies sold per month
• Client retention percentage
• Cross-sell success rate
• New business growth history

Work Environment

• Remote/hybrid office setting based in Anchorage, AK

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $60,000-$70,000 plus commission and performance bonuses
