Straight Line Communications is a growing technology and infrastructure company specializing in structured cabling and network solutions. We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Cable Technician with a strong background in commercial structured cabling and network infrastructure installations.

This position is ideal for a skilled, detail-oriented technician with hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test CAT6/CAT6A structured cabling systems
• Install and terminate patch panels, racks, cabinets, and cable management systems
• Install and terminate single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and network diagrams
• Perform cable certification and testing using Fluke or equivalent testers
• Troubleshoot cabling and network connectivity issues
• Coordinate with project managers, IT teams, and other trades on-site
• Assist with data room buildouts and network infrastructure installations
• Operate lifts up to 40 feet (certification is a plus)
• Travel to job sites as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of structured cabling experience
• Strong experience with CAT6/CAT6A termination and testing
• Ability to read construction drawings and cabling schematics
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must have own industry-standard tools
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic installation and termination
• Fiber certifications (FOA, Corning, BICSI, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Experience with CCTV, access control, and other low-voltage systems
• Experience using cable certification tools and documentation software
• OSHA certification or other safety training
