Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care / Step Down Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year experience in PCU or similar specialty - Experience with monitoring and managing telemetry patients - Experience with MS/Tele settings - Travel experience required Description: This position requires working in a Progressive Care / Step Down Unit with a patient ratio of 1:3. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience. Previous charge experience is preferred. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. Weekend coverage may be necessary as scheduled. The patient population includes individuals requiring close monitoring for various medical conditions. Special procedures and care for transplant patients are part of this role. Responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias are key aspects of this position. Management of high flow oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management is required. Candidates should be proficient in IV insertions and management, feeding tube care, and wound care. Experience with procedural sedation monitoring and renal failure management is essential. Candidates should possess skills in managing vasoactive drips and cardiac drips. Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use is necessary.
