Manager Trainee

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is the sole employer responsible for hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no control over employment matters at the restaurant. Responsibilities Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience. Some managers also lead distinct departments, with duties including managing assigned systems—such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management—setting goals, delegating tasks, following up, and reporting results back to their teams and other managers. The Guest Service Department Manager ensures crew and managers deliver a great customer experience, that sales promotions are executed well, that all service staff are trained in service procedures, and that the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive‑Thru areas are organized for optimal service. The Kitchen Department Manager ensures the restaurant delivers high‑quality food quickly, that food is safe, food costs are controlled, and that all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new menu items. The People Department Manager ensures the restaurant hires qualified crew, trains them, schedules them to meet sales and profit goals, and maintains crew motivation through recognition and support. Qualifications Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates should be positive team players with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast‑paced McDonald’s environment. Applicants must be 18 years or older to serve as manager.
