Registered Nurse/LPN/Medical Assistant - Healthcare Clinic

Ruby Valley Medical Center is accepting applications for a Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to work in our Sheridan Clinic. Prefer 1‑2 years of experience in a clinic or direct patient care setting. Must be motivated and a team player. Position Description – RN/LPN The RN/LPN is responsible for the administration of nursing care to all patients in the clinic and hospital (after cross‑training to the ED, Acute, Swing and Observation areas). The RN/LPN works under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager and Providers granted privileges by the Board of Directors at RVMC. Essential Job Accountabilities Room patients: Vital signs, weight, height, BMI, allergies, chief complaint, medication reconciliation at every visit. Stock and clean exam rooms. Check for out‑dates in exam rooms as assigned. Manage out‑dates in the medication room and crash cart. Patient medication management, including prescription refills, patient assistance programs and prior authorizations for medications. Anticoagulation coordination. Referrals and orders as needed (specialists and diagnostic testing). Knowledge and administration of all vaccines offered in the RHC. Administer allergy injections – proficient at administering the anaphylactic protocol (RN/LPN ONLY). Administer PO, IM, subcutaneous medications within scope of practice. Teach and educate patients regarding their health and wellness. Phone triage. Notify patients of diagnostic results. Proficient at the following clinic procedures: Ear lavage – set‑up and perform. PAP – set‑up and assist. DOT PX – perform nurse testing (hearing, UA, etc.). Welcome to Medicare exam. Well‑child visits. Cross‑training to the Acute Care, Swing, Observation and ER departments at RVMC. Log in to “Health e link” per e‑mail notifications to access patient test results from other facilities. Any other tasks assigned or requested within scope of practice. Position Description – Medical Assistant Assists physicians and physician assistants in the examination and treatment of patients. Duties include interviewing patients to obtain medical history, checking pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, vision and hearing. Employees perform all duties in a manner consistent with the mission and values of RVMC. Works under the supervision of the Clinic Manager. Essential Job Accountabilities Work directly with providers. Room patients in a timely and efficient manner. Obtain and record in the EHR: height, weight, respiratory rate, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, presenting complaint and pertinent history. Update patient’s medical allergies and medication list in the electronic health record at each visit. Assist providers in scheduling tests, making referrals to other providers or for other medical services, and notifying patients of their test results. Interact with patients to facilitate scheduling of needed services such as procedures, laboratory work, imaging and referrals. Notify patients regarding the advice of their providers. Screen phone calls from patients to providers. Set up and stock patient and procedure rooms for procedures and assist with procedures as requested and supervised by the provider. Other tasks assigned by the RN or provider. Complete Medical Assistant Training Sign‑Off sheet with CMO, and renew annually.
