Phlebotomist

Contract phlebotomist opportunity with potential for permanent. Location: Itasca IL and surrounding suburbs (float job). Schedule: 6 AM to 7:30 PM as required, Saturday 8 AM to 12 PM, possible Sunday shift (7 AM–7 PM). Duration: 3 months, potential permanent. Pay: $21–$23/hr. Benefits are available. Requires neonatal to geriatric patient experience, minimum 3 years of experience, clean driving record, reliable transportation; mileage expenses paid. Float locations: Joliet, IL; Makena, IL; Marionette Park, IL; Palos Park, IL; Oak Brook, Tinley Park, IL; Chicago, IL; Evanston, IL; Waukegan, IL. Responsibilities Perform blood draws and timed glucose tolerance testing. Process specimens (paps, cultures, urine, office staff collections) in the computer system. Package specimens for courier pickup and maintain inventory of stock. Provide high customer service. Assist in troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens; check requisitions for accuracy; package for transport. Store specimen samples according to temperature requirements and transport protocols. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results for inquiries. Minimum Qualifications Valid phlebotomy certification in the state of employment. Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
