Sr Manager, Structural Analysis Engineering

About the Role As a Senior Manager of Structural Analysis Engineering at Sierra Space, you will provide leadership across multiple structural analysis disciplines or departments, driving strategic initiatives that contribute to organizational success. You will translate functional plans into operational objectives, manage complex projects, and ensure technical excellence across your organization while developing talent and fostering innovation. Key Responsibilities Translate functional plans into operational plans and execute operational initiatives. Ensure execution aligns with financial plans and maintain accountability for area budgets. Lead and support change initiatives, embodying company culture and strong leadership. Manage activities of two or more disciplines or a department, providing direct supervision to managers or individual contributors. Drive strategy and success of larger projects that contribute to multiple areas of the organization. Provide guidance to subordinates and translate functional plans into operational objectives to deliver results. Contribute to financial planning and execute according to plans, goals, and priorities; maintain accountability for select budgets. Interact regularly with executive-level leadership on cross‑functional and/or customer matters requiring skilled persuasion in sensitive and complex situations. Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires conceptual thinking and in‑depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Uphold and model company values, holding others accountable to those values. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience; master’s degree plus 13+ years experience is acceptable). 15+ years of related experience, including several years in a managerial or leadership role. Extensive knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in structural analysis. Strong financial acumen and budget management skills. Proven track record of successfully managing large teams and complex projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate functional plans into operational plans. Ability to oversee multiple projects and develop long‑term technical strategies. Ability to provide solutions to unusual technical problems requiring high innovation and ingenuity. Experience supporting organizational changes and mentoring/coaching others. Uphold and model company values and hold others accountable to those values. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a relevant field. Extensive experience in the structural analysis and aerospace application domain. Mastery of advanced engineering software for structural analysis and design (e.g., Nastran, Femap, Ansys). Deep familiarity with industry codes and emerging best practices (ASME, ASTM, AISC). Expertise in fatigue, fracture analysis, and dynamic analysis methods. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++ for custom analysis tool development. Experience managing large‑scale projects with tools like MS Project or Primavera. Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills, with experience in automation and optimization. Compensation Pay Range: $172,677.00 - $237,451.50 (actual base compensation determined on a case‑by‑case basis).
