Electrical Engineering Manager

Electrical Engineering Manager | AI Infrastructure $347K–$420K base + equity | US office-based role A site can have land, funding and a queue of customers. Getting hundreds of megawatts safely from the utility connection to the equipment is another challenge entirely. That’s the challenge you’ll help solve. SR2 is supporting an AI infrastructure company hiring an Electrical Engineering Lead to take ownership of electrical engineering across multiple large-scale Data Center developments. The scope runs from high-voltage infrastructure through to critical power distribution. You’ll lead the team, direct engineering partners and make decisions that carry through design, procurement, construction and energization. The interesting part is what you’ll build beyond the individual projects. With multiple sites moving at once, every development brings a choice: solve the same problems again, or establish an engineering approach that makes the next project better. You’ll help define that approach. Where designs should be standardized. Where site conditions demand something different. Which technical risks need resolving early. And how to keep delivery moving while maintaining engineering discipline. Your remit will include: Building and developing the electrical engineering team. Owning electrical design, technical standards and engineering delivery across concurrent projects. Directing consultants and design partners, including review of electrical studies and technical deliverables. Working with construction, delivery and R&D teams to turn lessons from the field into better designs. Advising leadership on equipment choices, capital expenditure and programme risks. You’ll need experience making decisions at this level. You may have built that experience in hyperscale Data Centers, mission-critical facilities or major industrial infrastructure. What matters is that you’ve led engineers, delivered complex electrical systems and taken responsibility for the technical outcome. Strong medium- and high-voltage knowledge is essential. Experience with utility interconnections, substations, critical power systems or onsite generation would be particularly relevant. A PE licence is welcome. You should also enjoy building structure while projects are already moving. There will be competing priorities, incomplete information and decisions that need a clear engineering judgement. Why consider it? The compensation is substantial: $347,000–$420,000 base salary plus equity. So is the remit. You’ll have the opportunity to shape an engineering organization and establish standards that influence how multiple major facilities are delivered. This is a full-time, onsite position based in one of the company’s US engineering hubs. Location details are available through a confidential conversation. Interested? Contact Nathaniel at SR2. An initial conversation doesn’t require an updated resume.
