We are currently looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to join our Darien Branch! This individual will adhere to and enforce branch operating procedures, achieve sales goals, promote courteous customer service, and accept & process mortgage applications. This position requires a license under the SAFE (Safe and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing) Act, as well as CT State Life and Health licensing to sell annuities & life insurance to qualified applicants. Work Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday/Saturday

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages daily operations with infrequent need for management intervention.
• Performs all supervisory functions in Manager's absence.
• Participates in the performance evaluations of branch staff and may assist in recruitment of candidates.
• Provides advice and guidance to staff members in the areas of branch and banking operations, and product and service knowledge.
• Assists Manager in promoting a strong sales culture; Monitors branch-wide customer relations to assure the continuous provision of professional, comprehensive services.
• Sells and refers all products and services; achieves individual sales goals & assists manager in achieving branch goals; Refers Bank products and services, promotes a positive sales culture, and maintains product and service knowledge.
• Responsible for all Customer Service Representative logs and audits; Supervises or conducts branch and ATM balancing.
• Approves checks, overdrafts, loans and uncollected items up to designated limits; Prepares related documentation.
• Accepts and processes mortgage loan applications (must be licensed as required under the SAFE Act).
• Performs pre-qualification analysis; Serves as liaison with customers regarding status of loan approval process.
• May process wide variety of financial transactions as staffing levels require; Performs all duties of Teller Supervisor as directed.
• Trains new Tellers and Customer Service Representatives; Ensures current knowledge and skills of all branch staff.
• Adheres to and enforces compliance with applicable Bank, State and Federal regulations and laws governing banking operations and security.
• Maintains vault cash.
• Maintains and demonstrates positive customer service orientation; Responds promptly to customer inquiries and resolves or refers as necessary.
• Maintains knowledge of current developments in branch banking operations through review of literature and participation in seminars and continuing education programs.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Completion of 1 to 2 years of college or equivalent experience plus 3 to 4 years branch banking experience, including time spent as customer service representative and one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated sales and customer contact skills required.
• Must have a strong understanding of branch banking operations and familiarity with banking operations in general.
• Skills in sales techniques and customer relations are required.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills are required, as is familiarity with financial transaction processing system.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with other related application programs and equipment.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• License to sell Life Insurance required.
• Ability to supervise branch staff of 2 to 7 employees.
• Work requires standing or walking most of the day, as well as occasional lifting and carrying.

Wage Range : $60,000 - $75,000

Salary commensurate with experience.
