This role supports KE's Automation and Electrical teams by executing commissioning, system validation, and industrial networking activities across a variety of complex projects. You'll be responsible for commissioning control systems, validating field devices, and supporting PLC and network integration that directly impacts system performance, startup readiness, and overall project success. You'll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include: performing I/O checkout, loop verification, and point-to-point wiring validation for field devices and control systems; assisting with control panel checkout and support commissioning and startup activities onsite; troubleshooting and resolving control system, device, and industrial network issues during commissioning; supporting basic PLC configuration and startup using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens; configuring and integrating automation devices including VFDs, motor starters, remote I/O, and control panels; installing, configuring, and testing network-connected devices and industrial communication systems (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP); supporting IP addressing, network setup, and communication path verification; working with Ethernet switches, fiber optic systems, and structured cabling infrastructure; configuring and commissioning IO-Link devices, masters, and gateways per project requirements; documenting commissioning activities including test results, deficiencies, and system configurations; communicating progress and coordinating closely with engineers, project managers, electricians, and contractors; ensuring all work meets safety standards, project specifications, and quality expectations.

Successful candidates typically bring: 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or electrical systems; strong understanding of control systems, field instrumentation, and electrical fundamentals; hands-on experience with I/O checkout, commissioning, and system startup; basic PLC configuration and troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar); experience with IP addressing, industrial networking, and device integration; ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, and network diagrams; experience working with Ethernet switches, gateways, and distributed I/O systems; strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in field environments; willingness to travel extensively (50%+) and work extended hours during commissioning phases.

$36/hr- $43/hr
