Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Supervisor leads daily operations for the production department, overseeing production associates and ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing. This role manages raw material inventories, supports mold fabrication activities, and collaborates closely with other departments to maintain smooth operations and meet customer demand in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all production department associates to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operations.

• Read, interpret, and fully understand production (shop) drawings to guide manufacturing activities and ensure accuracy.

• Maintain appropriate levels of raw materials, including monitoring usage and coordinating replenishment to avoid production delays.

• Maintain inventory of raw materials, equipment, and tools, ensuring items are organized, available, and in good working condition.

• Occasionally operate electric-powered, air-powered, and hand tools such as saws, sanders, nail guns, screw guns, and various hand tools as needed to support production.

• Assist the mold fabrication department with set-ups and adjustments in casting molds to support efficient and accurate production.

• Collaborate with and support other departments, including Designing, CNC Routing, and Mold Fabrication, to maintain overall company operations and efficiency.

• Work with various cements, gypsums, and casting materials while following proper handling and safety practices.

• Perform quality checks on finished molds and finished pieces, including pre-assembly verification, to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.

• Safely operate a counterbalance-type forklift to move materials and products as required.

• Receive and comprehend direction and instruction from the Operations Manager and translate those instructions into effective action on the production floor.

• Make sound decisions, meet production targets, and work effectively under timelines and customer deadlines.

• Communicate clearly and work cooperatively with other departments to resolve issues, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Apply principles of production management, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process improvement to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.

• Support production scheduling and job preparation to ensure resources, materials, and personnel are aligned with production requirements.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience managing others in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Experience managing a manufacturing department with responsibility for people, processes, and output.

• Demonstrated qualification in the use of electric and pneumatic powered tools, including safe operation and basic troubleshooting.

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand production (shop) drawings.

• Strong supervision and production management skills, including team leadership and performance oversight.

• Experience in manufacturing operations and manufacturing processes, including assembly and production workflows.

• Competence in production supervision, production scheduling, and daily operations management.

• Ability to make decisions, meet targets, and work effectively under timelines.

• Strong communication skills to work well with cross-functional departments such as Designing, CNC Routing, and Mold Fabrication.

• Ability to safely operate a counterbalance-type forklift.

• Capability to receive, comprehend, and implement direction from leadership.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.

• Experience with process improvement initiatives and Six Sigma or similar methodologies.

• Familiarity with industrial manufacturing environments and high-volume production.

• Experience in job preparation and coordinating resources for production runs.

• Strong management and supervisory skills, including coaching, training, and developing production associates.

• Exposure to manufacturing operations involving cements, gypsums, and casting materials.

• Ability to perform quality checks, including pre-assembly verification, to ensure products meet specifications.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lincoln, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
