Job Description

A Mechanical Engineer at Kodion Energy will design, test, and optimize mechanical components for power and distribution transformers, such as core-and-coil assemblies, tanks, and cooling systems. The design will then be uploaded to a CNC machine so that all raw material cuts are precise and compliant. This will be an entry level position and Kodion Energy will provide on-the-job training training for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design: Mechanical design/detail of core and coils, tanks, enclosures, and cooling systems per customer requirements.
• Calculations & Analysis: Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and stress analyses to optimize performance.
• Documentation: Create 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Compliance: Ensure designs follow industry guidelines like IEEE, ANSI, and IEC standards.
• Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with the electrical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and timely delivery.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant mechanical design or manufacturing experience in power systems or heavy equipment.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SketchUp.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in structural mechanics, materials science, and thermal performance.
