Junior Accountant

Cleveland, OH | Full-Time An established professional services firm in the Cleveland, OH | Full-Time An established professional services firm in the Cleveland, OH market is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with at least two years of related experience who is looking to continue developing their skills within a stable, professional environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. What You’ll Do Process and apply cash receipts and payments accurately and efficiently Assist with vendor invoice processing and accounts payable functions Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations Research and resolve transaction discrepancies Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Maintain accurate accounting records and financial data Work collaboratively across accounting functions and participate in cross-training Communicate with internal team members to resolve accounting-related questions and issues Utilize accounting systems and Microsoft Excel to maintain and analyze financial information Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed Qualifications 2+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred Strong understanding of basic accounting principles Experience with reconciliations, transaction processing, and general accounting functions Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience with Aderant or similar accounting software is a plus Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately Effective written and verbal communication skills Comfortable learning and navigating new technology and accounting systems Prior experience within a professional services environment is a plus, but not required What We’re Looking For The successful candidate will be a reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented accounting professional who communicates well and enjoys working as part of a team.
