Job Description SummaryThe Associate Director, Neuroscience & Renal, US Patient Advocacy collaborates with relevant Neuroscience and Renal patient communities to understand unmet needs that inform business strategy, mobilize and empower the patient community and those who care for them to seek the best care, and reduce access barriers.This role is required to be in our East Hanover, NJ office 3x/week. Please apply only if this works for you.Novartis will not sponsor visas for this position.Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.Job DescriptionKey responsibilities: Build and maintain trusted and strategic long-term relationships with patient organizations and communities in relevant Neuroscience and Renal disease areas, centered on two-way communications and collaborations to advance shared prioritiesIdentify the right patient organizations to drive strategic collaborations and partnerships that help educate and mobilize patients to seek optimal care and elevate the voice of the patient to inform decisionmakers in the patient treatment journey, including HCPs, policymakers and payersExecute integrated patient advocacy strategies aligned to critical business and corporate priorities based on deep understanding of the patient/care partner experience and unmet needsEnsure patient/care partner insights and implications for launch and growth brands are systematically actioned across corporate affairs and with cross-functional partnersStay abreast of key environmental and policy issues impacting the company’s ability to operate and pre-emptively drive initiatives and build relationships to shape the environmentEffectively use AI enabled tools to support advocacy planning, content development, and insights generationMonitor and evaluate performance to achieve and maintain best-in-class outcomes, while being fully compliantEffectively manage budget and maximize agency ROI​Essential requirements: Success rate in achieving desired business objectives and outcomes for specified therapeutic areaFunctional alignment of strategies, priorities, and objectives across therapeutic areaManagement, and resolution of critical issuesUtilization of OGSM framework planning approach with measurable results and assessment of business impactFeedback from internal stakeholders indicating collaboration and thought leadershipFeedback from patient organizations and key advocates indicating impact and a positive and transparent image for NovartisOwnership of development planDesirable requirements:Bachelor’s degree required8+ years of experience in patient advocacy or related discipline with a healthcare and/or pharmaceutical background, prior experience in rare disease preferredDemonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with patient organizations, professional associations and other stakeholdersCommercial launch experienceManagement of agency partners and budgetCrisis and issues management Benefits & RewardsThe salary for this position is expected to range between $126,000 and $234,000 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
