Vice President, Product Management (Margin Services) (New York)

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Product Management to join Margin Services business within our Markets Division team. This role is located in New York, NY.In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Act as Product Owner and business liaison for the development of a new client-facing front-end supporting collateral workflowsDefine and maintain the product backlog, including user stories, business requirements, and detailed acceptance criteriaLead end-to-end product lifecycle activities, from concept through development, testing, rollout, and post-launch optimizationDevelop and execute client migration strategy, transitioning users from legacy tools to the new platform with minimal disruptionGather, synthesize, and prioritize feedback from internal stakeholders (Operations, Sales, Relationship Management, Technology) and external clientsConduct client demos, training sessions, and feedback workshops to drive adoption and continuous improvementPartner with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements, bug fixes, and releases, ensuring alignment with client needs and strategic objectivesSupport Sales and Relationship teams by acting as a functional SME during client discussions and solution positioningContribute to revenue generation and business management activities, including supporting pricing strategy, client profitability analysis, and overall product commercialization efforts Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and client behavior to inform strategic decisions and product positioning Act as a functional SME across collateral, margin workflows, and client experience, supporting internal teams and client engagements Partner with cross-functional teams to drive business performance, including tracking KPIs, adoption metrics, and financial outcomes tied to the product Leverage and promote innovative use of AI and automation, identifying opportunities to enhance business processes, improve client experience, and drive operational efficiencyTo be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 2–5+ years of Product Management / Product Ownership experience, preferably in financial servicesPrior exposure to OTC derivatives margin, collateral management, custody, or securities settlement workflows (including familiarity with SWIFT messaging such as MT540/542 preferred but not required)Understanding of post-trade flows, settlement processes, and custody operations Experience working in an Agile environment, including backlog management, sprint planning, and JIRA (or similar tools)Proven ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and actionable user storiesStrong client-facing and presentation skills, including experience delivering product demos to external stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to gather and synthesize feedback across diverse stakeholder groups and convert insights into product enhancementsExperience managing or supporting client migrations, platform rollouts, or transformation initiativesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, technology teams, and clientsStrategic thinker with a strong attention to detail and executionExperience working on client-facing digital platforms or workflow automation toolsDemonstrated experience supporting product commercialization, pricing, or financial performance, with an understanding of client profitability and revenue drivers Strong ability to analyze and synthesize market trends, competitive dynamics, and client needs into actionable insights and strategic recommendations Experience partnering across functions to drive business outcomes, including tracking KPIs, adoption metrics, and product performance Familiarity with or demonstrated interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve business processes, enhance client experience, and drive efficiencyAt BNY, our culture allows us to run our company better and enables employees’ growth and success.
