We are seeking to hire an ophthalmic assistant who is proficient in medical optometry/ophthalmology! What You’ll Need: Experience as a Medical Assistant - Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician is a plus! Valid Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), American Board of Opticianry (ABO), and NationalContactLensExaminers (NCLE) certification recommended, but not required. Proficiency in understanding ophthalmic assistant process (we can help train this with our tried and true techniques). We ensure that our doctors and staff have the best equipment available to them so that they can provide their best care, including: Lipiflow® Keratograph 5M® Dry Eye Profile EyePrint Prosthetics® Certified Practice Pentacam HR® Tomography Humphrey Visual Field 740i w/ Liquid Lens Fundus Photography with Optos® retinal imaging Cirrus OCTa 5000 w/ Angiography and anterior segment imaging for advanced CLs Rechiert G3 Ocular Hysteresis EyeResolution Diamond Series Slit Lamp Zeiss IOL Master 5.4 A-Scan ultrasound Marco® 6100 and 5100 auto-refractors What You’ll Do: As an ophthalmic assistant in our practice, you can look forward to exciting day to day interactions with patients, including: Customer service excellence Diagnostic imaging with ultrasonic devices (OCT b-scans, IOL master a-scans), scheimpflug imaging (Pentacam), refractive technologies, Goldman tonometry, iCare tonometry, corneal hysteresis, optos imaging, fundus photography Fitting, adjusting, dispensing of contact lenses Patient education Appointment scheduling and confirmation for medical referrals General office duties and support Occasional community outreach programs 2-3 times per year (no-cost community eye screenings, retirement home visits, open house at practice) Schedule & Compensation: We value work-life balance which means whether you’re working part-time (15-35 hours per week) or full-time (35-40 hours per week) you won’t be scheduled to work weekends .
