Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
• Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant’s reservation system.
• Escort guests to their tables, considering seating preferences and special requests.
• Communicate accurate wait times to guests during busy service periods.
• Coordinate seating assignments to balance workload across service staff.
• Answer phones promptly to take reservations, provide restaurant information, and assist with guest inquiries.
• Assist with special guest accommodations (e.g., birthdays, large groups, accessibility needs).
• Ensure the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas are tidy, well-organized, and presentable.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor and Captains to maintain smooth guest flow and timely service.
• Support team members by helping with table resets or guest assistance during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred, especially in high-volume or fine dining restaurants.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality training is a plus.
• Familiarity with reservation systems and POS software is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
