Growing together.Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law. Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers. Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions. Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist.Primary Responsibilities:Counts, pours, and packages medication, following all prescription error prevention procedures, for review by the pharmacistEnters prescription and patient information into the pharmacy computer systemRetrieves medication from stockRefers medical, prescription, or other appropriate questions or phone calls to pharmacistAt point of sale, verifies that customer receives correct prescription(s)Enters sales on cash register, process payments, and bags merchandise at end of saleEnters refill requests in IDX, contacts physician's office or refill hotline regarding refill authorizationsAnswers and transfers phone callsMove stock from storage to OTC area, follow plan-o-gram to stock shelves, label OTC products and shelves, complete OTC price changes, and change ad signsAny other duties as deemed necessary to support clinic and pharmacy activitiesStock pharmacy shelves and remove out-dated over the counter (OTC) stock, returns, call-ins, etc from shelves and complete paperwork for returning goodsAssist customers in locating OTC needsFronts and clean shelves clean counters, bins, etc.Attend meetings as designatedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High school diploma/GED or completion of certified technician training programTSBP registration2+ years retail pharmacy experience or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician programExperience with math cash handlingProven stress toleranceProven physical staminaDemonstrated ability to read merchandise labels and invoicesDemonstrated ability to ask and answer questions over the phoneDemonstrated ability to write information on prescriptionsDemonstrated ability to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problemsDemonstrated ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptionsDemonstrated ability to add and subtractDemonstrated ability to make changeDemonstrated ability to complete daily cash reportDemonstrated ability to type 20 WPMDemonstrated ability to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environmentDemonstrated ability to maneuver around pharmacyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 - $32 per hour based on full-time employment.
