Our client is a well-established commercial construction organization seeking an estimator who wants to build deeper expertise in interior construction while taking on meaningful ownership of the bidding process. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced construction leaders, estimate diverse commercial projects, and develop toward independently managing bids from initial takeoff through final submission. The environment is hands-on, collaborative, and ideal for an estimator who values direct access to decision-makers, practical mentorship, and the opportunity to broaden their capabilities.

This Role Offers:

• Hands-on training from experienced construction and estimating professionals.
• Exposure to commercial projects across a variety of markets and geographies.
• Opportunity to develop from foundational estimating responsibilities into complete ownership of bids.
• Close collaboration with company leadership and an experienced estimator.
• Predominantly office-based work with only occasional pre-bid meetings or local site visits.

Focus:

• Turn plans and specifications into complete, competitive estimates for commercial interior packages.
• Build quantity takeoffs for gypsum board, light gauge framing, ceilings, paint, carpentry, and related interior work.
• Develop labor, material, vendor, and subcontractor pricing into organized project budgets.
• Carry bids from initial scope review through final proposal preparation and submission.
• Spot scope gaps, pricing risks, and value opportunities before a bid goes out.
• Coordinate closely with project leadership and estimating teammates to validate assumptions and sharpen bid accuracy.
• Keep estimating records, cost history, and supporting bid documentation current and easy to audit.
• Support an efficient transition from estimating to operations when projects are awarded.

Skill Set:

• Relevant commercial construction estimating experience, with a working foundation in interior building scopes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and details, including the assemblies and components incorporated within wall systems.
• Working knowledge of drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, painting, rough carpentry, or comparable commercial interior trades.
• Experience completing quantity takeoffs, developing pricing, and supporting commercial bids.
• Ability to organize multiple estimates and work effectively against bid deadlines.
• Familiarity with construction estimating technology and standard office productivity tools.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, organization, and clear communication.
• Coachable approach with a willingness to learn, accept direction, and collaborate closely with experienced teammates.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site each day at the employer's office within commuting distance of Waco.
• A Construction Management or related degree can be beneficial but is not required
