R&D Senior Engineer

Becton Dickinson seeks an R&D Senior Engineer for its Specimen Management division in Franklin Lakes, NJ. The role involves developing technical solutions to complex product challenges, leading design and testing initiatives, and supporting material and process improvements through engineering analysis and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical solutions to complex engineering problems using experimental and analytical methods
- Design and validate in vivo and in vitro product evaluation models and test methods
- Lead design of experiments, tolerance analysis, and design verification and validation activities
- Manage material and design changes through design control processes with documented research
- Present technical findings and data analysis results to peers and business leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years technical experience (BS), 3+ years (MS), or 2+ years (PhD)
- Proficiency in solid modeling software (Pro/E, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and phase-gate product development
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to direct associates and cross-functional teams
- Expertise in fixture design, test method development, and Measurement Systems Analysis
- Strong project management skills with Microsoft Project proficiency
