Accountant

Job Description

We're looking for an Accountant who enjoys bringing organization and accuracy to complex government contract billing. In this role, you'll manage the full billing lifecycle, from processing invoices through government systems to supporting contract budgets, tracking project costs, and delivering clear financial reporting. Your work will play an important part in keeping operations efficient, compliant, and audit-ready .

Essential Functions:
• Develops job budgets and establishes jobs within the accounting system while tracking contract modifications and charge codes.
• Prepares, submits, and posts contract billing via government payment systems and the job cost system, ComputerEase.
• Manages contract billing, reporting, and the monthly review of Work in Progress (WIP) and budgeting.
• Maintains contract funding levels and prepares customer notices in accordance with contract directives.
• Manages and participates in internal and external audit processes (e.G., 401k, benefits, financial, DCAA).
• Establishes and maintains departmental guidelines, procedures, and goals related to efficiency, accuracy, and initiatives.
• May provide payroll support as needed, including processing multi-state payroll.
• Supports company Quality Management, Safety, Environmental, and Security programs, along with other certifications and initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Experience:
• Minimum of two (2) years of billing and invoicing processing experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with accounting software
• MS Office Suite experience
• Advanced Excel skill level
• ComputerEase experience preferred


Education
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
