Job Description-:
Core Engineering Profile
- Strong hands-on Python development
- Experience building AI agents and agentic applications
- Strong builder mindset, able to understand requirements and move quickly from concept to working implementation
- Comfortable working within an existing enterprise framework
- Framework development experience is not a priority. Cisco already has the underlying framework, so the focus should be on engineers who can build and deliver agents rapidly
Oracle ERP / Finance Knowledge
- At least one engineer should have working knowledge of Oracle ERP Finance , particularly:
- Finance-related modules and concepts
- Relevant Oracle ERP tables and data structures
- Ability to understand how finance data can be used by AI agents
- Ideally, this knowledge would exist across more than one member of the team
What the Team Will Build
The primary responsibility will be to develop AI agents in Python using Cisco's existing framework. These agents will subsequently integrate into Cisco's broader AI ecosystem, including:
- My Agent , Cisco's cowork-style experience
- Circuit , Cisco's ChatGPT-style conversational environment
The emphasis should be on hands-on builders who can ramp quickly and deliver working agents , rather than architects focused on creating new frameworks.
What I would optimize for
Given the discussion with the customer, I would prioritize candidates in this order:
1. Strong Python + AI agent builder
2. Ability to move fast within an existing framework
3. Oracle ERP Finance/table knowledge
4. Cisco environment familiarity, where available
5. Bangalore/Hyderabad proximity for offshore engineers
I would not make Oracle expertise mandatory for all four positions. That could unnecessarily constrain the talent pool. Make it a must-have capability within the pod , with at least one strong person, and a preference for broader coverage across the team.
